Vehicle Crime Alert - Catalytic Converter Theft

We have received a report that a van parked overnight in the neighbourhood had its catalytic converter stolen.

Catalytic converter thefts can happen quickly and often occur during the night, with offenders targeting vehicles parked on driveways, roadsides, and in less visible locations.

To help protect your vehicle, please consider the following security measures:

✅ Park in a well-lit area where possible.

✅ If you have a driveway, park close to a wall, fence, or another vehicle to limit access underneath your vehicle.

✅ Consider installing CCTV, motion-activated lighting, or a video doorbell covering your parking area.

✅ Fit a catalytic converter security device, lock, or protective shield if available for your vehicle.

✅ Mark your catalytic converter with a forensic marking kit and register it with a recognised property marking scheme.

✅ Be vigilant for suspicious activity, especially individuals seen underneath vehicles or using jacks and power tools late at night.

✅ If your vehicle has an alarm, ensure it is activated when parked.
